Pay It Forward Campaign Richmond VA Real Estate

Today is Thanksgiving and as I sit here it is almost overwhelming how blessed we are as a family. We have a beautiful roof over our heads, a bountiful amount of food to devour, and we are fortunate to have good health. And, when our health isn’t so great, we have the means and access to a variety of doctors to make as whole again. What makes us so lucky? Only by the grace of God and because tomorrow hasn’t unveiled itself yet. We never know what trials and tribulations we will face at any given time.

This past year, my husband heard the dreadful words so many Americans have been hearing for several years now – Job Eliminated. Although it was a shock because he had been with the same company for roughly 13 years – the only company he had ever worked for since leaving the Navy and graduating college – in a strange way we knew we had dodged the bullet for many years and this time our number was up. However, within 2 months of being notified of his job elimination, my husband was offered a fantastic position, ironically the day after his final day of employment. We are so very grateful for the opportunity as others have been searching for positions for years and are still coming up empty handed. We pray for those who find themselves in this situation and we sincerely hope you will find that much desired offer letter in your email tomorrow.

During the final two months of my husband’s work, my business continued to grow and I have never been busier. I am very grateful. I love being a Richmond VA Realtor and understand how fortunate I am to wake up with excitement to do something I am passionate about.

So, this Thanksgiving Day I am thrilled and proud to announce my “Pay It Forward” campaign! For each transaction that I close, whether it be working with a buyer or seller, I will be making a donation to a local Richmond VA charity on behalf of my business and my clients. I only get to do what I do because of others and it is only right to give back to the community in which gives so much to me.

I just had a Glen Allen VA home for sale close two days ago and I am so happy to be writing out a check today to the first recipient of my “Pay It Forward” campaign –  the CJ Thumbs Up Foundation -made possible by my client, The Philips Family. The CJ Thumbs Up Foundation “provides financial assistance to families of children with chronic and life threatening illnesses…” In addition to bestowing grants, the foundation also has CJ Meal Fairies which are part of the Lunch Bunch program. This program “provides meals to families of pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital of Richmond…” Knowing this donation will benefit local families who are facing the unimaginable gives me great satisfaction and gratitude. Although 2012 has had some challenges, we are grateful for the lessons learned and the chance to make a difference. May each of you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
